Antibiotic Potency Test

The Antibiotic Potency test is a crucial part of the process of approving antibiotics for sale or use. It is used to evaluate the degree to which various antibiotics inhibit the growth of bacteria. The antibiotics Vancomycin, Gentamicin, and Amphotericin B are only a few of those that have been tested and approved.

The cylinder plate method, which is specified in USP General Chapter 81 on Antibiotics-Microbial Assays, is utilized to ensure that the results of the test are accurate. It is a scientific method that must be followed carefully to gain reliable results. Clients can be confident in the accuracy of the test results thanks to the strict quality assurance measures that are enforced.

USP 81 is the applicable standard for the Antibiotic Potency test. All antibiotics must meet the requirements of this standard in order to be approved for sale or use. The standards set forth in USP 81 must be adhered to in order to guarantee the accuracy of the test results. This is important for providing clients with reliable information about the efficacy of the antibiotics.
