RARE EARTH ELEMENTS
Rare earth elements are usually dispersed due to their geochemical characteristics. This indicates that they are not frequently found in adequately concentrated clusters to be mineable. These minerals are known as rare earth because of their scarcity.
Several high-tech equipments rely on rare earth elements. More than 200 different devices require the use of rare-earth elements (REE), particularly high-tech consumer goods like cell phones, computer hard drives, electric and hybrid cars, flat-screen monitors, and televisions. Electronic displays, navigational aids, lasers, radar, and sonar systems are all used extensively in defense. Despite the fact that the amount of REE used in a product may not constitute a significant percentage of it in terms of weight, value, or volume, the REE may be required for the device to operate. For instance, the spindle motors and voice coils of PCs and laptops would not be conceivable without magnets constructed of REE, even though they frequently make up a small portion of the overall weight.
