Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) Testing and Measurement Services

Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) is a testing and measurement technique used to study the mechanical properties of objects, specifically the viscoelastic properties of polymer materials. The technique involves understanding the viscosity and elasticity of a polymeric material using constant deflection. This type of testing allows for the monitoring of strain under dynamic sinusoidal stress and enables complex time-dependent moduli to be comprehended.

Various time-regulated, frequency-based, and temperature-dependent properties of polymers can be determined through DMA testing. These properties include the storage modulus (E’ or G’), the loss factor and angle, as well as glass transition temperature. Fatigue testing is used to inspect the changes within a polymer material when it is subject to repeated loading and can provide information on its long-term behavior.

By undertaking DMA testing, it is possible to study the viscoelastic characteristics of rubber materials and polymers, helping to determine the composition of the material. As well as this, the glass transition temperature can be established and fatigue testing utilized to monitor its long-term behavior. This testing and measurement technique is invaluable in helping to understand and analyze the properties of polymers.
