Coal and Charcoal Testing

Testing of Coal and Charcoal

BBQ lovers continue to frequently use charcoal as fuel. The most popular type of charcoal used by consumers nowadays is the charcoal briquet. The charcoal’s quality is a crucial component in ensuring efficiency and security. To assure high quality, charcoal briquets are tested for moisture content, sulphur content, and how much smoke is produced, to name a few. The amount of residue left over after burning the charcoal is determined by ash testing. Since charcoal is manufactured all over the world, its composition and content might differ greatly. The effectiveness of the briquet can also be evaluated using a set of uniform tests, which look at things like how long it burns and how much heat (in BTUs) it produces.

Anthracite and bituminous coal can be examined using techniques that are very similar to each other. For many years, Infinita Labs has been a pioneering laboratory in the performance, emission, and residue testing of coal and charcoal.

Conclusion:

Coal and charcoal testing plays a crucial role in ensuring that these fuels meet the necessary standards for safe and efficient use. The results of these tests are used to inform decisions related to fuel selection and usage and ultimately contribute to the sustainability and safety of our energy and industrial systems.
