85 85 Testing Services

In the 85 85 test, the specimen is placed in an environment with a temperature of 85℃ and relative humidity of 85%. The duration of the test may vary, but in general, the specimen is exposed to the 85 85 environment for as long as 1,000 hours.

The test is also called the damp heat test and is capable of simulating the effect of 20 years of moisture exposure on a product.

Common Uses of the 85 85 Test

  • Detection of mechanical failure.
  • Corrosion detection in materials.
  • Product reliability testing.

Advantages of the 85 85 Test

  • Common type of temperature and humidity testing.
  • Simulates 20 years of moisture exposure on a product.

Limitation of the 85 85 Test

  • The test is too harsh for certain materials like PET.
  • The test conditions exceed normal operating conditions of RH sensors which can lead to sensor malfunction.

Industrial Application of the 85 85 Test

  • Semiconductor industry
  • Automotive industry
  • Metallurgy
