Scope:
ASTM E572-13 test method is appropriate for quality control in the production process as well as ensuring that the product satisfies specifications. It performs multi-element determinations quickly and accurately enough to ensure product quality.
Procedure:
High energy X-rays are bombarded on the test specimen. Crystals distribute the secondary X-rays that are created. At specific wavelengths, suitable detectors measured the count rates. The detector’s outputs are counted in voltage pulses. Radiation measurements are done based on the amount of time it takes to reach a certain number of counts.

Specimen size:
All the test specimens and reference material should have a flat surface and diameter greater than 5.
Result:
In this way by performing ASTM A572-13, steel alloys are successfully analyzed by using fluorescence spectrometry.
