Scope:

Procedure:
In ASTM E1311, a standard circular target is used in contrast with a differential blackbody. It establishes a contrast between blackbody isothermal temperature for the target and blackbody isothermal temperature for the background. The temperature difference is initially at zero and then it is increased gradually for a limited duration. This critical temperature is basically called MDTD.
