Noise

Noise testing is conducted to assess the ability of materials to withstand external noise generated by various sources, such as air-borne and structure-borne noise. The results of this testing can indicate whether a material can function effectively in its intended environment without causing damage to its structural integrity.

Various standards have been established to ensure the accuracy of noise testing results. Some of the most commonly used standards are MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-3928, MIL-F-7872, MIL-A-8064, MIL-F-8615, MIL-A-8870, MIL-T-15514,, and ASTM C423-66. All of these standards ensure noise testing results are consistent and reliable.

When done properly, noise testing can provide valuable insights into the material’s performance and safety. The right standards and protocols must be used to ensure accurate and reliable results. This will help ensure the material is fit for purpose and safe to use in its intended environment.
