Virus and Virucidal Testing
Aerospace corrosion testing per MIL-STD-810 evaluating alloy and coating protection performanceVirus and Virucidal Testing
Testing for virus-killing efficacy is known as virucidal activity. To register a virucidal disinfectant for market release, efficacy data must be given. To ensure accuracy and efficacy, a set of standards must be followed when conducting virucidal tests. These standards include ASTM E 1052 and E 1053.
The tests are designed to have strict controls and a scientifically plausible design, providing clients with great levels of trust in the results. Viruses can be purchased as needed. The methods used for the tests can also be changed to suit the testing requirements.
Virucidal tests are conducted against various viruses such as HIV, human coronavirus, and herpesvirus 1 (HSV1). Data from these tests must meet the standards set by ASME 1052 and ASME 1053. The results of these tests are used to register the virucidal disinfectant for market release.
