Results:
Water-insoluble materials present in a solvent expected to be completely water miscible may interfere with many uses of the solvent. The water miscibility test method described in ASTM E346 provides a qualitative indication of the presence or absence of water-immiscible contaminants. Methanol is miscible (completely mixes) with water. The methanol sample is diluted to 10 volumes with water and the resulting mixture is examined for cloudiness and turbidity.
