ASTM D6203-06 Test for Thermal Stability of Way Lubricants
ASTM D6203-06 is used to determine the thermal stability of hydrocarbon-based way lubricants. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
ASTM D6203-06 is used to determine the thermal stability of hydrocarbon-based way lubricants. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
Scope:
Thermal stability is the ability of a fluid to resist breaking down under heat stress. Thermal stability is important for an oil’s lubricating performance. ASTM D6203-06 test method evaluates the thermal stability of a way lubricant in the presence of copper and steel rods at 100°C. Rods are visually examined. Deposits and rod colors are observed to determine the thermal stability of the sample.
Test Procedure:
In ASTM D6203-06 test method a beaker containing test oil and copper and steel rods are placed in a gravity convection electric oven for 24 h at 100°C. After the test, the copper and steel rods are visually rated for discoloration, and the beaker is visually evaluated for deposits.
Data:
The following information is reported:
ASTM E572 test method covers the analysis of stainless and alloy steels by Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (WDXRF). It provides rapid, multi-element determinations with sufficient accuracy to assure product quality.
The ASTM D2674 test is a standard test method for the analysis of sulfochromate etch solutions used in the surface preparation of aluminum. The ASTM D2674 standard specifies a method for determining the efficacy of an etchant used to prepare the surface of aluminum alloys for subsequent adhesive bonding.
An immunological method for quantization of Hevea Natural Rubber (HNRL) proteins using rabbit anti-HNRL serum. Rabbits immunized with HNRL proteins react to the majority of the proteins present, and their sera have the capability to detect most if not all the proteins in HNRL.
