    ASTM D7035 Sliding Wear Resistance FAQs

    ASTM G137 determines the resistance of plastic materials to dry sliding wear using a block-on-ring configuration. Results are used to rank materials according to their sliding wear performance.

    The method can be used for plastics that can be fabricated into suitable block specimens, including molded or cut specimens from fabricated plastic parts.

    Testing can be performed at specified load, sliding velocity, and temperature conditions selected to represent or approximate the intended service environment.
