ORIGINAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Asphalt and bitumen chemical property testing per ASTM D36 and D92 at Infinita LabORIGINAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
The original Physical Properties test of rubber products is a key step in understanding and evaluating the performance of these materials. Tensile testing measures the point of failure when the material is elongated in tension. This information ensures quality control or determines the material’s performance in various environmental conditions. Tear testing measures the material’s resistance to tearing when introducing a rupture point. The maximum force recorded upon tearing is used to assess the tear strength.
These tests are performed at both elevated and sub-ambient temperatures. Additionally, hardness testing is done with either hand-held or stationary equipment to record the durometer of the material. This is done by penetrating the material with a special indentor and then measuring the durometer after a given time. Original Physical Properties testing is a crucial part of analyzing and characterizing elastomer, plastic, and thermoplastic materials. It is useful in determining the material’s physical characteristics, such as its resilience, strength, and flexibility. This information can then be used to create materials with specific characteristics for different applications.
