“The Billet Saw scale was developed in association with Mooney Saws to work with their Nishijimax Billet Saw,” reads the newest unique system our team created. The system’s main goal is to reduce waste produced by out-of-tolerance cut billets, which can also impair stamping machinery later on. In addition to confirming that the cut billets fall within the saw’s strict tolerances, our system also relays the weights to the blade so that any irregularities may be immediately corrected by adjusting the cut lengths.
Weighing the billets in 2-gram increments, our technology briefly stops the billet on the scale to take the most exact measurement possible and determine whether it is a pass or fail. The total weighing cycle time is planned to average around 2 seconds per billet to reduce any potential impact on manufacturing throughput.
