    ASTM E736 test method purpose is to identify an SFRM property that can be utilized to determine its in-place serviceability.


    A metal or plastic cap with a hook is used to determine cohesion/adhesion. An appropriate adhesive is used to secure the cap on the SFRM. Manually increasing load is applied as measured by scale until some failure occurs.

    Specimen size:

    The specimen should be conditioned at (20±10) °C.


    Cohesive/adhesive force can be calculated by using the following formula:

    CA= F/A

    CA = cohesive/adhesive force

    F = reduced force

    A = Cap area
