ASTM D6175 Radial Crush Strength of Extruded Catalyst and Catalyst Carrier Particle
The ASTM D6175 test method is used to determine the radial crush strength of extruded catalyst and catalyst carrier particles. This test method is designed to determine an extruded catalyst’s capacity to maintain physical integrity while in operation.
Scope:
The ASTM D6175 test method is used to determine how resistant extruded catalysts and catalyst carriers are to compressive force from the side. Extruded catalyst and catalyst carriers with diameters ranging from 16 to 12 inches were used to develop this test method, which was limited to pieces with a length-to-diameter ratio of greater than or equal to 1:1. Other diameters may be relevant to this test procedure. The mean crush strength per millimeter in the range of 0 to 15 Ibf/mm can be determined using this test procedure.
Test procedure:
Individual extrudates from a typical sample are calcined, measured in length, sandwiched between two flat surfaces, and compressed according to ASTM D6175. It is determined how much force is required to crush the extrudate. The method is repeated, and the force per millimeter is calculated, as well as the average of all quotients.
Specimen size:
The ASTM D6175 test protocol requires riffling or splitting to acquire a test sample of 50 to 200 individual particles from larger composites.
Data:
The crush strength per millimeter (x) calculated for each extrudate, retaining the results to the nearest tenth unit, is as follows:
X= F/L
where:
X = the crush strength for one extrudate per millimeter
F = the force necessary to crush the extrudate
L = the length of the extrudate along its cylindrical axis
ASTM E572 test method covers the analysis of stainless and alloy steels by Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (WDXRF). It provides rapid, multi-element determinations with sufficient accuracy to assure product quality.
The ASTM D2674 is a standard test method for the analysis of sulfochromate etches solution used in the surface preparation of aluminum. The ASTM D2674 standard specifies a method for determining the efficacy of an etchant used to prepare the surface of aluminum alloys for subsequent adhesive bonding.
An immunological method for quantization of Hevea Natural Rubber (HNRL) proteins using rabbit anti-HNRL serum. Rabbits immunized with HNRL proteins react to the majority of the proteins present, and their sera have the capability to detect most if not all the proteins in HNRL.
ASTM G65 measures the resistance of metallic materials to abrasion using the dry sand/rubber wheel apparatus. The quality, durability, and toughness of the sample are determined using this test. Metallic materials are ranked in their resistance to scratching abrasion under a controlled environment.
ASTM E2141 test methods provide accelerated aging and monitoring of the performance of time-dependent electrochromic devices (ECD) integrated in insulating glass units (IGU). This test helps to understand the relative serviceability of electrochromic glazings applied on ECD.
ASTM C724 test method is used in analyzing the quality and ease of maintenance of a ceramic decoration on architectural-type glass. This test method is useful in the acknowledgment of technical standards.
