ASTM D6036 Standard Guide for Displaying the Results of Chemical Analyses of Groundwater for Major Ions and Trace Elements

Scope:

ASTM D6036 provides a standard guide in presenting or mapping with areal maps for the distribution of elements and related parameters of water from an aquifer. Interpretation of water’s origin, composition, and interrelationships of water from aquifers, such as the chemicals and time-related trends or other associated parameters can be determined objectively from the areal maps display.

Test Procedure:

All chemical analyses used in the mapping methods in ASTM D6036 described in this guide must be validated. Automated procedures are used for cross-sections from the scientific software clearinghouses and the water quality maps.
